My mrs suffers from a chronic lack of mechanical sympathy and goes through lightning cables way too often.

If there such a thing as a Special forces/Ninja/ End level boss/Super hard nut lightening cable that can survive the brutal treatment my wife exposes them to?

No. Just buy lots of them.
Joking aside, I've never had an issue with the Anker ones and my wife also doesn't understand the concept of 'keeping things nice'

On a recent device, invest in wireless charging

What seems to work is putting a spring (like one out of a pen) over the cable near the connector to give extra strain relief but with some flex in it. Playing with the phone when it's plugged in always seems to break things where the strain relief ends and the spring makes a better transition.

What you don't want to do is have too chunky a cable, or you end up with the port giving way instead of the cable.

I use these too, seem fairly robust. My missus is the same, always connected by scratching around feeling for the port and disconnected by yanking on the cord rather than the connector.

These

https://titanpowerplus.com/

Literally virtually unbreakable.

Only downside is they have a stupid light to tell you they are charging.

Another Anker lead user. The milage out of these outstrips the official Apple one. Way cheaper as well.

Edit. Make sure it is not a knock off though.

The Amazon Basics Braided ones seem pretty tough.

My daughter is the same, the number of unbreakable leads she’s got through is unbelievable, I buy at least 2 a month.

Not a bad idea about the wireless charging but she’s got a iPhone 6 so I’d have to buy her a new phone!

I got fed up of my children snapping the USB ports on their tablets and other USB powered devices around the home. I found wireless charging to be a bit hit and miss, especially with aftermarket charging pads.

I have now invested in many, many of these magnetic connectors:

A bit of hot glue to keep the connectors attached to the devices themselves is required. Also very handy on my USB charged headphones and drawing tablet.

What about those magnetic cables, are they any good? Too much stress on the cable and it pops off the magnetic bit that is plugged into the phone.

Edit. I’m such a slow typer laugh ^^^ one of them!

She has just managed to kill 3 normal and 2 braided cables since the start of the year, lord knows what she does with them. Thats why I want to give destructive skills a challenge with something more up to the challenge.

I will check out some of the suggestions, thank you.

Braided ones from Amazon that come with a lifetime guarantee. I think I used Anker and Rampow, both have replaced FOC

I've been using Unbreakable cables in an effort to combat the same thing.

They are very well made and so far so good.

Or get a magnetic connector. Stops a lot of stress going through the wire.
