Partial rebuild question
Discussion
I've built my last 2 PCs from the ground up, and have enjoyed the experience whilst saving a shed load of money. My next build will only be a partial rebuild though, which has raised a question I don't have the answer to.
Basically I intend to replace the motherboard, CPU and GPU. I'm not sure about the PSU untiil I have decided on the final replacement parts and can determine the power requirements, but I am pretty sure the exisiting PSU will be fine. I will be keeping the existing drives, DDR4 memory, case and cooling setup.
That's the back story. What I don't know is whether it will all just boot up as normal once I have swapped out the parts I intend to replace, or will there be some re-installation of software required to get it to work.
If it makes any difference, the OS is Windows 10 and boots up from a 250GB SSD.
