a pile of stting steaming turdy fking bks... banghead

What fking bunch of pricks decided to redesign the look of it ever so slightly, so all the simple pissing tasks you've been doing without thinking about for the past fking decade are no longer quite so simple.

Surely the point of using this fking product is that fking millions of people around the world use it every fking day, and find it seemless to jump into. So why the juddering fk would some spotty faced y software engineer decide, "I know, let's just change everything a little bit..." Jesus fking Christ do they actually ask their users for feedback before chucking the proverbial hand grenade into millions of PC's... Or do they feel that they need to change the whole fking look of it so people think they are getting value for money by upgrading to latest crappy version...

Yes, I know in a few days I'll be used to it and will have forgotten the old version, but for now I'm blundering around like some pissed vegetable in a blender because the button in excel or outlook or whatever the fk has been shifted a couple of inches to the right.

Wait until you've been using it for a couple of months, then you'll really start to hate it. Every iteration of office Microsoft Software from ~2010 onwards have become increasingly worse.

Its worse if you have a Mac !

Mac runs cool, nice and swift. Until Office.

And the ttting thing decides every now and again, when you just need to sit down and crack the fk on with some work to st itself whilst it rebuilds its entire database of crap and load up another version of slow turd.

Makes me question my Mac. tts.

6/10 due to repetition.

I do agree though. Outlook in particular seems to break easily then fix itself.

Windows 95 and office 2000 did pretty much everything I'll ever need
You only paid once as well

The only thing that I can think of that caused some consternation was moving search in Outlook.

I keep getting ‘Word in not responding’. I reckon it has happened half a dozen times since the last ‘upgrade’ to Windows.

I’ve got Office 2016. It was given to me by a company I had a contract with. I think I was had. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it as I’d be really p***ed off. As it is, I’m just irritated.

I’ve taken to using LibreOffice 6.3. For me at least, the cost is the same, but it hasn’t hung. It’s everything a paid for office suite should be. I know it is a personal matter, but I find the interface clear and quick to navigate.

I write, both as a hobby and a job. A stable and consistent word processor is an essential. Word does not, for me, fall into that category.

They have removed the quick search box at the top of each folder in Outlook. Why would they do that? If you needed to find an email in that folder from someone or containing a specific word or phrase you just typed it into the box and they popped up. Now, who knows?

I need to google how to easily search a folder now unless anyone here can help and save me the time working it out? I assumed there would be a button on the task bar but if there is it is not obvious.

i like it. I have been using Microsoft office for 25-30 years. In my view 365 is the best iteration. Iuse Word, Excel and powerpoint on a daily basis. I take all my notes in Onenote, I find things easy to find and easy to format.

It's at the top of the screen now - they made it same as in the other Office programs.

Am I the only one who has found 365 to be pretty good? Haven’t really had any issues to be honest. Must admit though I’m not a ‘power’ user so perhaps don’t utilise shortcuts and the like that may have been lost.

In general though no complaints.

It's worse if you use it on both Windows and MacOS.

Besides the obvious ctrl/cmd key flip...the toolbars are different (and options to edit them are different), the Mac version can't adjust grid spacing, the Mac version has two menu bars, the same font on both systems spaces slightly differently so that what fits on a certain number of pages on the Windows version slips to an extra page on the MacOS version.

For unix-based computers this is the default office suite, but it is available for PC's and Mac's as well. And is completely, utterly free.

I am sure that if more people knew about LibreOffice then MS would go out of business quite quickly. OK, I exaggerate to make my point but still ....

Link here.

Yes, it is as good as it looks. No, it won't cost you a penny. Yes, it is well worth a try.

No - I'm just the same. I used it for the first time this week and found it easier than I remember (previous version was probably '03 or '07). I only really use Excel - and I prefer the new version.

Philosophically, the thread title is correct...
