I need a wireless camera and hand held display screen. There's plenty on amazon but I'm struggling to find one that doesn't rely on local wifi. The camera will be used where there's no wifi signal so it must be a self contained radio link.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

it's to watch a trailer being filled so the driver can sit in their cab and move the lorry as required.

Something like the BOSCAM K1 Wireless Reversing Camera (don't have to just use it for reversing, or at all for that)?

Uses wifi, but it's own.

I think the problem with that is the screen needs to be wired to 12V, I need something battery powered as it will be different trucks being loaded.

Some baby monitor cameras use 2.4GHz instead of Wifi
Screens are usually designed to be portable and recharged off 5v/12v

That is exactly what I'm looking for but a more ruggedised industrial version.

How about an action camera, can be connected to a smart phone by wifi, the camera gives off the wifi signal and you connect the smartphone or tablet to that, and then can view the stream on the phone, can even record it then if you want.

We need something self contained so when the driver turns up we can just hand them the screen and let them control the tipping and moving of their lorry.

An action camera and a cheap android tablet, could probably get both for £100, can also record and take photos with it.

We've been rethinking this on site, would this work:

wifi weather proof camera
wifi router
small android tablet

if so, does anyone have any suggestions on kit choice?

Do the trucks have lighter/power sockets?

Could you do away with the hand held screen and have a larger screen mounted outside? It'd have to be pretty large as the truck being loaded starts furthest away and moves towards it as it is being loaded. It would also reduce the risk of someone driving away with your monitor. As a bonus you could put some sort of distance measuring thing which would monitor how high up the load is piling and when to move forward.

Here's a professionally created illustration of the silo with a truck underneath it, to give you an idea of what I'm trying to solve.
