Hi people.

I'm just upgrading my Mac to a G5 (arrives this afternoon) and need to insert a PCI card. Is it still 'best practice' to keep the computer plugged into the mains (but off) whist inserting card to avoid any static spikes?

Also, I don't have a modem on the Mac, but have downloaded some latest Mac drivers on my PC and dumped them onto a CD - does OSX read PC Cd's so that I can transfer and install on the Mac?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

The Mac will read PC CDs easily, as long as the file formats are the compatible.

PCI = shouldn't be a problem. I've got a generic wireless card in my Powerbook and works fine

Handle carefully and discharge any static by touching the metal case of the Mac before handling the card, and you should be ok.
