I'm trying to grasp why this is better, apart from it can fold away better for storage and protecting the screen...

$1399 in the US, likely to be £1399 (rip-off if true)

Not seeing it myself. Was quite excited, imagining me wombling round with my Grail Surface phone. No wireless charging, no 5G, midrange camera, and not convinced they solved the using it as a folded device problem (it basically folds inside out, my preference would have been a tiny AlwaysOn screen on the front outside.)

Not for me, which makes me sad.

I've been waiting for this in some ways. I want to be able to take work home without having to take my laptop home.

My current solution is a £150 Samsung Android phone which goes everywhere, and a £150 Samsung Android tablet with all the MS apps on which mostly stays at home. The tablet also has a BlueTooth keyboard so I can type longer emails in the evening too. (It's a bit st, but that's because I was trying the solution rather than putting a lot of money into it.

I don't see how the Surface Duo would be a lot better than what I have now. It would also need 5G and a little screen for indicating notifications without opening it to be really useful. It's still a whole lot of money though. My work will never sign off.

Looks gorgeous though.
