I bought a cheap Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop to surf the net on, trying to install Win 7 on it.

I get a error message eventually (see pic).

Thing is I can't get into boot sequence to change it, I don't get a Toshiba splash screen, I don't get a C prompt, pressing F2 does nothing, neither does pressing delete or Esc

So tempted to bin it, but want to fix it too

Advice anyone please

Spam f11 as soon as you turn it on and keep doing it see if you get the boot order menu failing that F1 for bios or delete just keep hitting them

I think Boot options are F12 on the Satellite Pro. And I think that page also gives you an option to go to the BIOS configuration page.

Good old workhorses, I recently rejuvenated an old 2010 model with a new SSD and some extra RAMs

F2 has aways been the BIOS key on the Tosh Sateliites I have used. Hit it constantly as you power on.

Have you checked that there is a HDD in it?

Win 7 is no longer supported.

If you just want to surf the net, install Ubuntu instead.
