I need to scan job sheets into a pdf on my iPhone, then need to transfer to my Mac for attaching to an email. Any recommendations?

Ideally greyscale and as small file size as possible. Just needs to be readable and printable at the other end for archiving.
As seamless as possible please.

New versions of Macs have continuity camera - providing the Mac and iPhone have bluetooth enabled and are on the same Wifi network you can scan directly

Notes has a scan function. Open notes, click camera icon in bottom of screen, click scan and scan away. Save. If the mac and phone are iCloud then it appears on the mac. If not, mail to yourself.

Thanks I did not know about this. Should be ideal, only problem is I cannot get it to work. Mac is Mojave, iOS13, Wifi on, BT on. Apple id 2 factor on.

When I go to import from iPhone, all options are greyed out. Hmmm

I use adobe scan. It’s free and does multiple sheets really well (One touch then finds each page as you point the phone at it), good if job sheets are more than one page. I then email it, although there seems to be a cloud storage option.

Thanks. Yes I've used this, problem is I cannot see where to set preferences, the file size is too big. I just scanned a sheet and it was 954 KB. Also scans in colour and then you have to edit it to greyscale.

Unless I'm missing something?

On the scan option, any options in the top of the phone? I have "cancel" flash symbol, colour option symbol (three circle venn) and "Auto"
Click colour and you get greyscale as an option

Edit. Missed the file size issue. I never messed with that side, only scan and share to mail.

Yes found greyscale, thanks. So only file size an issue, if it had that as an option I could use it. I can send bigger attachments if I have to but try and keep them as small as possible.

Cant seem to change that without editing external which sort of takes away the ease. Apologies for the duff deal.

Might be another solution above.

Edit. Been messing.
You can save the scanned as PDF to the desktop, open PD the export as JPEG and alter size .

Edit. Dropped a 1.8mb scan of a book cover to 670mb, 370 on a lower setting and there was a tad more it could go down.
