I don’t use my XBOX much, but I dragged it out to play a bit of PUBG* this week, and none of the USB ports will charge my phone... am I missing something?

So when the xbox is on? Does it charge anything else? Like the controller?

Yes, the cable controller works fine... (!?)

Probable just down to the port (older USB spec) not pushing out enough juice to charge the phone.
Which phone are you trying to charge?

Like when you're trying to charge a new smartphone from the ciggy port in a car, but the adaptor only pushes out enough to show the charge symbol, but not actually enough to charge the phone.

If it's like mine, I find the ports work randomly.

Some days they'll charge, or play video from a USB stick - other days they won't - even tried it with a 2-into-1 cable to see if it was just not receiving enough power.

It should charge, just slowly. I cant find the specs online but even a 500ma USB B port should charge a phone. What phone is it?

When you say the 'cable controller' is that a wired controller or you're charging your wireless controller?
