Need a used IPhone 6s - best place to buy ?
Discussion
I bought 2 for my parents at the beginning of lockdown from music magpie - it was their “good condition” models - paid about £55 each for them.
One was near pristine. One had a tiny bit of minor pitting.
Only downside is that they supply non OEM cables, not a deal breaker by any means but I wasn’t aware and they aren’t “made for iPhone” so could stop working anytime.
I swapped them for 2 genuine ones from my stockpile though to save the invariable calls if/when they failed

I completely disagree about Music Magpie.
Bought a iPhone SE (original version) earlier this year from them - when it turned up it looked like the screen had been rubbed on a concrete path. Eventually got a refund (their 'customer service' is non-existent) and assumed it was a one-off and bought another from them - this looked better but when the battery reached 50% it crashed and died - had to involve eBay to get a refund on that one.
Got one in perfect condition from CEX where you could actually look at it before buying, and they seem to be far pickier about their grading than Music Magpie's slapdash approach.

Why buy an almost 5yr old phone when most phones die due to borked batteries?
Considering Apple phones are not the best with regards to battery life at the best of times, let alone when they start to deliberately screw over owners of older phones it just seems like a weird choice.
Would you not be better off with a newer model, or if money is an issue a newer model from a different manufacturer?
Not having a dig, it just doesn't make sense to me.

I purchased a Google Pixel 3XL from Music Magpie and when it arrived i couldn't get any signal on the phone (i tried various sims just in case) they didn't seem to call less "just send it back for a refund" fair enough but what about all the quality checks that they supposedly carry out? in the end i contacted Google and the phone was still in manufactures warranty so i sent it back to them and they replaced it.Bought a iPhone SE (original version) earlier this year from them - when it turned up it looked like the screen had been rubbed on a concrete path. Their method of operation seems to be - Send out rubbish and if someone keeps it then fine, and if they complain send them an automated email asking them to send it back then refund when you feel like, before selling the rubbish to someone else and hope it sticks.

I still have and love my 6S. I had the battery replaced for £20 at a local fix/repair shop and it's still holding at 100% battery health.Considering Apple phones are not the best with regards to battery life at the best of times, let alone when they start to deliberately screw over owners of older phones it just seems like a weird choice.

OP - if you do get one, make sure you get at least a 32gb or maybe a 64gb memory. My 16gb is restricting what I apps I can put on it now as
every OS update takes more room!

I wouldn't pay more than £100 for one though. 7's & 8's aren’t much more in comparison

I bought a Galaxy S10+ of Music magpie and it looked brand new when I got it so I'm happy to recommend them.
I personally would say buy off a company such as MM or CEX as two examples just so if things go wrong you have some come back, seller selling a phone then claiming on insurance for example, although that's pretty unlikely with an Iphone 6S I appreciate.

That's a bit of a pointless upgrade... I'm using a 7 now which is fine but even now i'd buy an 8 minimum.Ebay has loads but not sure i trust many or even nay of the listings tbh...
