I think Norton Internet Security 2005 is stopping msn messenger(latest version) from working.

Im about 95% sure, seemed that msn stopped after (i think) installing norton security 2005.

Cant seem to fix it either. Any suggestions? Msn is a business tool, without it im f:censored:ed :shoot:

Please help :)

After a day without msn, it occurred to my highly evolved problem solving brain to close and reopen msn...

Glad you solved your problem.. just felt the need to vent my opinion that Norton is evil!

Any opinions on Norton VS Macafee?

The reason msn wasnt working was cause it needed a reboot, norton has worked flawlessly and perfectly for me, over years and years, various different computers and setups, no worries at all

I do not have a great deal of exposure to Macafee so would not like to comment. My gripe with Norton is that I find the amount of processor time it takes up is bad compared to other anti virus/firewall apps I have used. Also I have had some great problems in a corporate environment and the help desk were rubbish. I am sure this experience has tainted my view some what.

I am big fan of AVG (who do a great free version of their antivirus for home use) and ZoneAlarm as an additional firewall to windows XP (which does a great job if you keep it patched)
