Transferring games through Microsoft accounts

When my kids were younger, I set up Microsoft accounts in my name to pay their xbox subscriptions, buy their games etc. but now they're older, I want them to have their own accounts. It's a right PITA every time they want to buy another game or if one of us needs to change passwords.
Does anyone know if it's possible to open a new account and then transfer games etc. across from another account?
You may have guessed but I'm not particularly familiar with how these things work.

Not actually transferring purchases, but you'd have to do the old gamesharing thing by logging in to a console with both accounts. Never tried it myself, so dont know if your card is safe from your kids.
