For the past few days there has been an EE service outage here (Chesterfield) and is advising it's taking longer than normal to fix - whatever 'normal' is..

However, it seems to be a selective outage. O/H has an EE sim that doesn't show any service in her Motorola or my LG but when I insert it in my ancient Nokia 6310i, it's service as normal. Am I missing an obvious reason?

Did you not hear? EE is pushing itself as a hipster brand. Only Apple and retro handsets are allowed on the network. Your Moto & LG are just not cool enough.

Sensible answer, probably a network upgrade thats gone wrong.... I'm sure that they'll fix it eventually.

Won't your 6310i be 2G not 3G/4G?

I have EE mobile here in Chesterfield and not noticed any change in service in Ashgate area. Perhaps it is your local mast?

Thanks. I'll drive around later to see if there's any change.

I did wonder about 2G, 3G, 4G etc., that could be the reason the sim works in the Nokia - I handed it to my O/H and she swiped the screen. I had to show her what buttons are smile
