Am I going to get Covid now? biggrin

Bought a Note 20 Ultra and ordered a EE 5G sim (£24pm for 60GB, plus £40 cashback).

Currently on BT 4G+ (BT is also on EE) and the speed test app gives me:

Download: 64mbps
Upload: 17mbps
ping: 16ms

So fast enough and don't really need 5G, but my sim contract was up for renewal. Will be interesting to see what 5G shows.

Same speedtest app on phone using wifi shows:

Download: 46.8mbps
upload: 9.99mbps
ping: 7ms

I could potentially ditch my home broadband at £30pm and just tether, as with EE you can exclude movies/TV from your data allowance.

Do you live near a 5G mast as that's the only time you'll benefit. 5G does not penetrate like 4G if the videos are to be believed ??

Let us know how you get on ?

Ee map says coverage, but also underpromises by stating 'weak'.

Will post up the numbers once sim arrives.

My iPhone on EE 4G-max gives 93 down and 33 up, but the ping is 30ms.

30ms ping is good compared to my landline (FTTC).
