I want to timelapse film a building project - I know where to site the camera but there will be no power there. I can string some Cat5e over there - any recommendations for a simple PoE camera to use (weatherproof natch)?

Hikvision - I power mine via PoE but the recording is done away from the camera on my NAS. If thats not an option then I think the more expensive models they do have a memory card option in the camera which might work for you. It might cost more but if you can store remotely then you can also check in to see its working ok

Thanks. It looks more complex than I imagined - I will need a splitter and a PoE injector by the looks of it. Possibly a bloody long USB cable might be the answer.

Don’t use cctv for this. Get a proper time lapse camera.

Brinno or something like that

Another vote for the Brinno

I used a few of them, great battery life very reliable.
