In my line of work ( car bodyshop) i take a lot of images of cars, and in a perfect world i want to get these images from my phone to my pc with the least amount of clicks

i currently use dropbox, but I am to tight lol to up my data plan from free, dropbox works well just take images on phone and open dropbox app and i can upload 2gb of images this will usually last about a month before i have to empty the folder on my PC.

To be honest i can keep doing it this way just wondered if there were any other easy options

I have tried onedrive it works similiary two things i dont like about one drive it only loads a preview within the folder on the PC and you have a slight wait as you select each image as it downloads, i am impatient lol. The other thing is onedrive image names are all back to front with no spaces
so it takes a good few seconds to read the date assigned to the image ie 20200908 where as the dropbox ones are better it would show 2020-09-08 which is much easier when you want to scroll through 500 or more images to get to a particular date.

And as google photos can no longer sync to googledrive folder on PC that's out.

Icloud doesnt save as date so that isnt ideal and i find the Icloud folder a bit laggy on PC

As mentioned just wondered if anyone else had any ideas of an automated way to transfer images

Cant you just open the Google Photos app on the PC.
Do you need to have the photos in Google Drive?
Unless you need them in super high res, storage is unlimited.

There doesnt seem to be a genuine google photos app in microsoft store

There is one called Client4 Google Photos 3rd party app that doesnt want to download

Google photos on web browser i have tried but found the upload from phone cant be forced so you just have to wait sometimes updates brower quick and sometimes not

Cheers for replys

OneDrive is still a good solution if you do the following.

If you right click on the Camera Roll folder where the latest photos are stored then choose "Always keep on this device" it should download them as it gets updated with new photos so they should be there fairly quickly.

If you click on the View menu then Details then the Date column the photos get sorted by the date and time they were taken.

I've used it since its inception and never had a problem with it syncing.
To cover all bases you may need to allow Google Photos app to upload over mobile data too.

I am sure it never used to be a problem it may have something to do with latest IOS update, only problem here is images are web based ??

And not actually synced to local machine ?

If you are talking about google images online that is

Google photos best solution I have found, in the app settings make sure its set to wifi and data to upload and just go to photos.google.com

you can download them one at a time or in a combined folder.

That's a setting you change in onedrive - right click on the cloud icon in the bottom right of the screen, select "help and settings" and then "settings" and untick "Save space and download files as you use them"
