Toshiba Satellite Lap Top Restricted to 80% charging
Discussion
I have an old Toshiba Satellite laptop, recently it looks as if Dynabook have installed a battery charging app or something to restrict the battery charging to 80% to preserve battery life etc.
Seems this once activated it cannot be deactivated.
Done a full clean windows install, still restricted to 80%.
Looked in the Bios but nothing obvious to me (but not computer savey person).
Its not the end of the world but any ideas how to get shot of this restriction appreciated.

I hate all forms of bloatware and would normally advocate trying to remove it all.
However with this would I would have to assume its there for a very good reason and I think even if I could disable it I wouldn't.
My guess is its there to stop the laptop blowing up !
Thanks - Toshiba had a recall on faulty batteries a while back-maybe they are worried they have not got them all changed yet. Its a free replacement programme, but the model/battery I have was not affected. However with this would I would have to assume its there for a very good reason and I think even if I could disable it I wouldn't.

The 80% charging is good for the battery life/safety, its just bugging me it cant be undone.
I've had this on a Samsung laptop.
It's not windows reading it wrong the bios is presenting the data wrong.
So windows shows 100% full as 80%.
The one I had in, had a re calibrate battery in the bios. This got it reading correctly.
Or you could update the bios, if one is available this will do the same thing.
