Hello - i am looking for recommendations and approximate costs for a reliable decent quality cctv system for a 7000ft factory, yard and office

Also should have an option for alerts to be linked to the police

How many cameras? Are you installing yourself?

Probably no more than 4 cameras and we would probably install this ourselves

Look at Hikvision. 4MP IP camera about £100 each. NVR recorder with 4TB HDD, say £250.00. Box of CAT5/6 and a few other bits and pieces £70.

You can record on site, no need for a cloud subscription etc. You can remote view using their Hikconect APP.

You can set up motion sensing and alerts, so if there is movement you get a notification or email. You may be able to integrate with your Alarm, you'll need to speak to the alarm co.

Reolink for me , they do a great easy to setup range of cameras , I got 4 for under £300 to monitor my remote commercial premises

Hiki are trade only , which is fine if you know what you are doing , it’s worth reading the news on them as well .

Not sure you'll get that with DIY - surely alerts go to the human monitoring, and if they look and see the tail end of a transit through the doors, they ring the police? Doing that yourself seems more sensible than paying an alarm company lots of money to do the same thing.

You won't link the system directly to the Police. You will need to link to a monitoring company who can monitor this out of hours, they'll then alert the Police if a confirmed break in.

Fair point - not expecting there to be many out of hours alerts, human (me) monitoring should be sufficient
