Incoming BT emails bounced.
Discussion
I've got a @btinternet email account and for a little while now some of my friends have reported that their emails to me have been returned with an error message as undeliverable.
I still receive most other emails (AFAIK) both on my android phone (I have a gmail address as well) and old PC, using Windows Mail. The messages aren't in Spam and don't appear at all on my email.bt.com/mail page.
It's possible that it coincided with a new android phone. I checked the security setting for incoming mail on it and it's set as SSL/TLS, but couldn't find a similar setting on my (original) PC to compare it to. That might or might not be relevant, for all I know.
I couldn't find anything on the BT website/community pages and chat is not available, did a PH search, so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Ask a friend to send a photo of the bounce back email they received. It might be time to think about ditching btinternet email. It's now extremely old!
I never thought of email as old, just email. I guess I only make use of the basics.Apparently it comes back saying it was rejected as Spam. I've not seen the message myself.
Thanks
Email systems shouldn't reject normal (as opposed to infected) spam - they should just route them to spam/junk folders.
I still have a couple of old BT accounts set up in Thunderbird mail client and they're always the ones that have trouble connecting or throw up some kind of error. I just ignore them and then next day they'll work fine. My FIL had a BT Interrnet address as his only email and he was forever in trouble with it - although a lot of that could be his fat-finger issue. I keep an eye on it now and as far as I can tell it works fine.

SSL/TSL is correct, but as you say it's irrelevant. The issue must be on the BT server side, your PC/Android/etc email settings could not make BT bounce incoming emails.
