Does anyone know what this is, or doing on my LAN?

It comes and goes, and when I look at its Properties, it says it is an Amazon device of some sort...

Quick Google brought up this:

It's your Amazon device. Give it a reboot.

You do now.

Ban the MAC address if your router has that facility.

Only way a device is on your network :

It's connected via LAN port
It has accessed via WPS button to Wi-Fi network (if you use it, and it sync'd at the time you tried to add another device)
It has connected via your PSK to your Wi-Fi network

It's not necessarily on your network. Smart TVs, speakers etc. allow devices to connect directly to them over wifi. Right click on a video or picture and see if anything shows up under "cast to device".

Yes, it could well be a neighbours device that is 'open'.

Don't have an amazon device on my LAN port.
I don't use WPS (ever)

Not sure how it can connect to my PSK (i thought that was randomly generated?... )in what context can it connect?

Weirdly, when i hit refresh, The Amazon device disappears, and now a Samsung Printer appears... yep, I don't have a Samsung Printer either.

I do. But this PC is talking directly to the router via Cat5e into the back. (The powerline is upstairs in another office)

But does the Powerline infrastructure connect back to the router in some fashion?

What is in the router's DHCP lease table?
