Gigafast + phone issue
Discussion
Evening all!
Had Vodafone Gigafast installed the other day, £3 a month less than I was paying for "upto 76" and now getting 208down, 203up. Happy Days.
As part of the install I've had a new phone number but i'll be damned if I can get it to work.
So I plugged my existing phone into router on "TEL1" using the adapter CityFibre/Vodafone supplied, no dial tone at all, if I d'm dial the number just get an error saying number cant be reached. So called Vodafone, after a few calls finally got to speak to their 2nd line team who basically said your phones aren't compatible (bout 4-5 years old), anyway bought some new ones, Panasonic twin pack. Plugged them in and same again, no dial tone, and number cant be reached...
cant get hold of Vodafone now... is there something obvious I'm missing here? I know its VOIP but was under the impression can just plug a "normal cordless" phone into the router.
These are the ones I bought

Wouldn't mind but the only person who calls me on the landline is mum or scammers.

II think there are VoIP phones that are compatible with the THG3000 router - looked into it, but don't recall the price.
My phone is on wifi calling, so not really sure of the need for a landline any more - call quality on the mobile (to mobile) is so much better that BT's analogue line.
