My Dell 9010 has stopped working
Discussion
I turned my PC on this morning & nothing happened. It was fine last night but now the PSU sounds as if it's trying to start then gives a little whine & shuts off, repeating the cycle every few seconds. The power button just flashes orange once & then nothing.
So far I have unplugged the DVD drive, the SSD drive, the HDD drive, all of the RAM, the front fan & the CPU fan. No difference with the only thing still connected being the two motherboard PSU connections. There's no graphics card
With the MB unplugged as well then nothing happens of course. When the self test light on the PSU is pressed to green light comes on & the PSU fan seems to turn which sort of points to the PSU being OK which means it could be a MB fault.
What to do next? A new PSU is £35. I haven't found the MB part number yet but it won't be cheap. Do I spend money on a PSU or write it off & spend £200 on a new PC? I'm not sure I can make any further tests to track down the cause.

If it's a single flash, I don't think that maps to a Dell blink code? https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-uk/sln2849...You could check the motherboard for failed capacitors (although it is a bit new for bad caps) and typically defective PSUs have obviously failed parts inside them, so if you can open it and inspect that may confirm if the PSU has died.
