Hope someone can help me please

Elderly father as managed to clog his laptop up with photos that he’s taken and loaded from his camera. File explorer says 80Gb worth and nearly 30 thousand files. Having had a quick look there appear to be loads of duplicates, ie file name SB001120 then up to 15 with the same name and (1), (2), etc. It’s causing a problem with his storage as he’s only got a 100GB SSD
Is there an easy way/ trustworthy program to sort this other than me manually going through them all?

Thanks

I've used doublekiller for years for this kind of problem.:

for the small data volume involved, I'd make a backup somewhere first just to avoid "I've lost stuff, I'm sure" arguments.

First thing you honestly need to do is buy a USB external drive and back them all up to it, then go organising them.
You are running that SSD close to max and if those photos are important or sentimental, you really are walking a tightrope.

You’re right, I have the majority of them from over the years backed up separately. Just ordered a USB to swipe the latest batch. Thank you
