Xerox WorkCentre 3345DNi (WOES)

Hi all,
Replaced and old Epson inkjet all in one 2 weeks ago with the Xerox unit above. Managed to get printing set up and switched off all the reports this thing likes to print regularly but for the life of me I cannot get it to scan. It wants scan users/destinations set up and appears to go into the depths of the laptop itself rather than just scanner software, different to the Epson and Brother units I've used before.
Spent best part of 3hrs on the phone to xerox to no avail.
Anyone on here able to help please? Happy to pay!
