I like to have a paper pad and pen next to me when working in order to take notes, etc but now that I can't just pop to the stationary cupboard to pick up a new pad I was thinking of getting some kind of electronic notepad. A guy at work uses a Boogie Board which he recommends but has anyone else got any other suggestions.

Thanks.

Very interested in this as well.
I write a LOT and want to get things digital. Tried OneNote on my laptop and somehow didn't gel with it.
So something between a paper notepad and a laptop sounds like it might to the trick.

Have been looking reMarkable but it is quite expensive.

I'd suggest you're after a Remarkable. https://remarkable.com/ The first one is very capable, the newer in a thinner form factor. Uses e-ink and lets you annotate PDF. The hardware is incredible, the software OK. Replaced paper entirely for me.

And the v1 isn't really much different aside from form factor, so pick up a second hand RM1 for a decent price at the moment. Loads on ebay.

I use Montblanc Augmented Paper, I tried a ReMarkable as well as an iPad mini and keyboard and iPad with pencil and these just didn’t work great for meetings etc...

I love using OneNote on my iPad Pro with the pencil. I put a matte screen protector on and it makes a big difference. It is great for technical docs as I can "print to" OneNote and have a copy that I can mark up with annotations. The cross platform ability is great with Windows apps and I also use my phone to look at notes as well.

If I was going to go down the tablet route, I'd take a look at the new iPad Air which is meant to be really good.

I got one of the NewYes syncpen & LCD pads off Kickstarter, seems decent enough although I haven't used much else to compare it to.

Stupidly got it just as I got an interest in fountain pens and trying to fix my terrible handwriting so it hardly gets used!

I'm another OneNote person. I was subscribing Evernote user but got fed up with their constant meddling with the way it worked, plus you had different formatting options on different platforms, which considering I was using my PC, laptop and work laptop, plus my iPad and android phone meant I had three different sets of none transferable options. OneNote actually is a lot better though I do miss tags.
