Constantly scrolling news ticker type app for iPad or Mac?
Discussion
Does anyone know of a constantly updating/scrolling news app for iPad or even a desktop app for Mac?
I've got all the usual Sky news and Apple news type apps, but they just generally remain static all the time displaying the same content unless you tap them or select stuff to update them.
I leave my iPad open all day beside my screens for news etc, but I would like something that scrolls or updates constantly as new stories or or business news stuff happen.
Someone suggested setting up an RSS feed thingy on my Mac, but I'm an imbecile and don't know what RSS feeds are.
Any ideas?
Thanks

It’s always slightly embarrassing getting absolutely no responses and then replying to your own thread, but.... this might help someone else out
After a lot of searching about, I found a very simple but effective OSX app called ‘Scrolling News Ticker’. It’s in the App Store on OSX.
It’s very clever actually. You simply open the preferences on the app and paste in the RSS address from any website you like. (I’ve used Financial Times and The Times)
The news headlines then appear as a very simple thin scrolling bar on the screen, which can be sized and positioned anywhere you like. I have it stretched right across the full width of one of my monitors at the very top of the screen. It is simple clean white text on a back or transparent background, and scrolls constantly like the news tickers on the outside of buildings like Reuters in Canary Wharf etc.
It only takes up maybe 2cm at the top of my monitor and can be made to stay on top of all other windows or sit behind other stuff.
It’s unobtrusive but lets you glance at any headlines that pop up as they scroll past. It updates live as stories break, and if you click on one of the headlines as they scroll past, it takes you directly to the article which the headline came from.
Highly recommended.
