Dell outlet - experiences?...

Ordered an alienware from the outlet this afternoon.
Had order email but they still haven't taken the money, is this right?
Also it says 7-10 working days for delivery, is this accurate?...

The won't take the money until they dispatch it.
Delivery was quicker than that the last time I tried it.

Be aware that Dell Tech Support are absolutely snowed under at the moment. I bought an Outlet laptop in the summer, had a problem and wanted to return it within the 14 day window, for which you have to open a tech support case to get an RMA.

It took tech support about 20 days to get back to me, despite chasing them via their ticket system and via twitter. As it happens in the end, the problem went away (probably with some driver update), so it was OK, but still slightly frustrating. It certainly made be think twice about ordering from them again, at least while the pandemic is on.

I’ve ordered from the outlet 8 days ago, it’s being delivered tomorrow. Originally they were quoting 16th nov delivery.
The outlet store uses a courier company named “Syncreon”.
I’ve googled them, their reviews are absolutely horrendous. I’m not hopeful of getting my laptop tomorrow!

Just googled them! They do look awful!

Bought an XPS lappy from the outlet a few years ago. I think it was scratch n dent but not a mark on it.

I've used Dell outlet since 2009 and have never had a problem with them (3 desktops, 4 laptops). Only had to contact support once (dodgy wireless/bluletooth card) and they sent out a replacement for me to install (they did offer an engineer but I would rather do these things myself). Even though the machines I have got have been scratch and dent there has never been any visible marks on any of them.
google for discount codes as well as keep an eye on their own discounts - I got delivery free and an extra 10% off my current Alienware Area 51 when I ordered it (should have been £2,200 for a machine that would have been >£3k new - all delivered for £2k).

Yes mate delivered no problem. It was DHL that delivered, they text me a 1 hour window this morning.
My laptop was also a ‘scratch and dent’ one but there’s not a single mark on it anywhere, it’s literally brand new. Well pleased.

Glad it all went well, I've still only had order confirmation still not heard anything else...
