Hopefully I can explain this clearly. I've currently got a pair of Nest cameras, on at the front of the house and the other at the back, attached to the garage and looking over the driveway. I want to upgrade them, while they're ok for basic viewing they don't do the job for detailed footage.

I've had a quick look, I want to retain the ability to view the footage on my phone, which means it needs to have the NVR connected to the router via cable, plus cables from each camera to the NVR too. I'm not really wanting to take my house apart to run the cables everywhere. The front camera is fairly easy to route to the living room, where I can connect the NVR to the router and use the TV as a monitor. That leaves the rear camera as the pain as it would need the cable run down the garage, along the garden and then through the house from the back to the front where the router/NVR would be. Not ideal.

Then I started looking at networking and stuff, I'm not hugely clued up it all but is it possible to have a camera connected to a router in the garage that then links up to the NVR or the network in some way inside the house? I have power in the garage so that's no issue. If I could setup a link wirelessly somehow between the garage and house I'd be sorted then.

I dunno if what I'm thinking is possible, any ideas?

Cheers

Yes you can create a wireless bridge link. I use the Unifi Nanostation for this exact purpose (networking in garage) and works great.

Home plugs, they use the earth cable in the Electrics to transfer, so one in the garage and your camera connected to it, and the other connected to your router in the house, mines been like this for years

I've done exactly that. Reolink NVR with 5 POE wired Cameras on the house exterior and 3 Wireless remotes in the outbuildings (need an AC source). Live feeds or review recordings direct to your phone, Not expensive, very good images (5k) easy to setup. You don't need the NVR with the wireless units, just access to your router.

That sounds like the ticket. I don't suppose you have a name/link for the wireless unit?
