I'm after a radio or speaker to play FM radio stations

Don't need it to do anything else but want a decent quality sound

What do you all prefer?

Do you mean you actually want FM reception alongside Wi-Fi?

Or do you mean you want a device that can play radio stations (over the internet) including those you might find on local FM.

In which case, anything that plays stations on tunein would work. I use Amazon Echo speakers for radio listening.

Play it though your device to a Bluetooth speaker?

Sonos one. Just ask alexa to play your favourite station. Great sound too, but expensive.
Or get an Echo...cheaper but sound not as good. Or...get an echo show cheaper still, but video too and sound even worse.

What he said,
Bluetooth speaker, price as wanted from cheap to expensive, mono or stereo JBL and Ultimate Ears are a nice price point and quality kit.

Can you listen to BBC stations?

I looked into one of these sorts of things for Mrs Noises sister and there seems to be some issue with BBC station availability. Need to use their own interface which is poor (or skill as I understand it is called) rather than the platform's, say, Tunein radio.

I dont have an issue with BBC stations. I ask for BBC radio 6 music and it opens the BBC app then plays the station. I understand that because it plays via the BBC app then it is not possible to listen on two echoes linked as a stereo pair; I don’t do this so no bother for me.

I have a couple of Audiopro Bluetooth/Wi-Fi speakers that you control with their app. amongst all the Wi-Fi streaming stuff like Spotify that is built in is a thing called V-tuner. This is a worldwide internet radio player, it also has all the BBC radio stations on it, including county level stuff. The speakers also have 4 presets so you can allocate a streaming service or internet radio station. They also sound really good!
