Hi folks, about 10 (splutter) years ago I bought an ipad 2 and I also bought my father one at the same time. They have been fantastic for everything we need them to do - namely surf, read, play you tube and send emails. However they are now basically not working and I want to replace them.

We have to stick Apple (I think) as we have an extended family all over the world all using icloud shared photo albums which is fantastically easy!

At the time they were £330 what is the current equivalent to the ipad 2 and whats the least I can get away with spending ;-) ?

Any input appreciated - obviously going android or windows would be cheaper but we have so many apple products it would be a total inconvenience and also my elderly father is comfortable with Apple use!

Any input greatly appreciated!

2020 base model iPad - £330 ?

Do you need more than 32GB of local storage for your uses?

Further to xeny's reply above, even though the the 2020 base model iPAD is the same price,
it is light years ahead of the iPAD2 in terms of performance and usability - it uses the A12
SoC so it will seem incredibly snappy and responsive in comparison, even for the basic tasks
you describe (I have the IPAD Mini5 with the same processor and it never misses a beat)

If you plan to keep for 10 years again (and why not biggrin) would it make sense to go for the 2020 Air?

Thank folks much apprecaited, I'm really not clued up on their current ipad line up - I wasn't sure if maybe I should be getting a refurbished pro etc?? But this looks like a very good option. I also had no idea the price was still reasonable.

I'll hopefully get one this week under £300 that's the target - it is black friday (week) and all!
