Anybody else experiencing problems with apple ipad email service? Mine asked for security password but when I deal with it and send it tells me server is down. 12 hours later I am still experiencing same problems. Can’t send emails, can’t delete old stuff, not receiving emails.

Assume that's iCloud email?
Mine's fine, nothing to report.

Thanks,I’m not pcc savvy, but I did receive a advert’ from icloud this morning. But I use ‘outlook’ mainly if that makes a difference.
I confirmed my password as directed and entered my last four digits on the security. Red note then tells me ‘server problem’ try later. Tried several times now and it’s rinse repeat.
Seems my email is blocked.!!

You need to go to Apple ID - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/apple-id and change your password.

So, you got a phishing e-mail via Outlook right?

The email was from Apple for their music service, came from the icloud service.

Are you 100% sure it came from Apple, and not someone pretending to be Apple to steal your username & password?

It just seems very suspicious/coincidental that this issue started just after you clicked this potential 'phishing' link.

The rule is to never click on a link from an email, and to go directly to the website via an address you know to be real/correct.

It sounds like it might have been fake. Does the "From" email address look like it is from Apple? Even if it does, that can be faked, so also hover over the link you followed (don't click on it) and look at the link address - does it look like a genuine apple web address?

Thanks for response, I had an Apple software update arrive on Sunday, I downloaded that. It looked legit as I have been sent them for several years from time to time. The Apple music email was definitely not the source 100% sure of my problems. The Apple music email invited me to click on for a three month free trial, I didn’t click on. Also I am very careful not to click on anything dodgy looking.
I may have to take the ipad into an Apple store tomorrow if all else fails.

Don't forget if you're using iCloud email via Outlook you need to log in to your Apple ID account and generate an app-specific password.

I'm not sure we've established it's an icloud account, or just a.n.other provider accessed on his apple device.

I know, OP has not been very helpful with explaining the problem, just trying to cover the bases that haven't already been covered.

I apologise for the vagueness from me, it’s purely down to my lack of skills and knowledge regarding computers. I do have an icloud account, rarely used as I use my outlook account for all my emails.
icloud account as fo verification of my account but went through the on screen instructions and they say ‘server down’. First problems I have had for about four years and first time on my apple ipad.
Methinks I will be taking a trip to Apple store for remedy.
But thanks to all posters for trying to help me out.
