Last week I changed from a 4G contract with 15Gb of data for £19 a month to a 5G with 160Gb for £20. I really don’t need that much data, even when sharing some to my wife, but 15Gb just wasn’t enough, and for a quid extra, why not?

Then today I received a text to say my monthly data allowance will be doubled for as long as I stay on that contract. Silly, so now I’m looking to ‘recruit’ my nephew and niece as family. Hmmm. Is that what EE intend to happen?

Is it an 80gb contract, that they have doubled to 160?

(I have an o2 contract that has 10gb as standard, but with an additional 20gb extra free for the next 2 years)

The contract is for 160Gb, £20 per month with the Black Friday offer. That was more than enough for me!
And then the text..... My account details still show 160Gb.

I got the same message about a week after going from a 100GB 4G contract to the cheaper 160GB 5G contract.

Checking my online account, and it seems I'v actually got an 80Gb contract with a contract-long data doubling offer...which was not mentioned anywhere when I was buying...but makes no material difference.

Account says:
  • 5G SIM Plan 80GB £20 24m
Email order confirmation says:
  • 5G SIM Plan 160GB £20 24m
So there's a bit of bait & switch for some reason...but I'll leave that argument until I need to be petty about something (or get out of the contract with a loophole) wink
