A scam in the making

With NS&I now paying any Ernie winnings into a bank account direct and NS&I sending an email to tell you that you've won. You click the link to check the prize line.
You can see what's going to happen.......excitement at the win, don't check the senders email address....
Be aware folk.

Can't believe that they put a link into their email - that's just inviting scammers to send fake emails. More than a few people are going to lose their premium bonds this way, I suspect. You can see what's going to happen.......excitement at the win, don't check the senders email address....

They should just have told the winner to go to the website (or use the app) and check.
Wow thanks for this, I’m about to buy a significant (to me t least) sum of premium bonds and was thinking of this as the method of letting me know wins.
As typing though i have realised text probably isn't safe either. I need to go into the site every month to check.
God we’re mainly dumb on the internet aren’t we!

I've had Bonds for years and this is the first time I have received any email, normally just use the prize checker and wait for the cheque through the post. I think the problem is that they are no longer going to send out cheques, they need your bank account details to pay any "winnings" direct.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
