Epson printer xps 245 ink not working

Hi,

Recently just bought some replacement ink for my printer was just a cheap generic plan. Printer says it does recognise it and it has to be epson ink!? I've never heard of it. A quick google shows that there is a way around it (turning printer off then replacing) or something along those lines.

Printer now recognises the ink but it not printing anything with that colour (black) which is kind of important!

Seems odd that there are even 3rd party cartridges out there if they don't work!

Anyone have any experience?

Had similar with cheap cartridges before, where I bought a few sets of ink, some worked fine whilst others wouldn’t, put it down as poor quality knock offs
