Hello
Hoping someone is familiar with Qnap NAS's to give me a steer please.
I've got a 253D with an 8TB ironwolf disk in it, but i can't figure out how to free up storage. I fear i may have jumped in a bit too quick in setting this up and not thought it through.
Basically my storage screen is showing "Storage Pool 1", shows:
Sys Reserved : 141GB
Thick Volume : 1.5TB
Free space : 5.6TB
Subscription 22%.
I can't figure out how to use the remaining 5.6tb of free space though - if i wanted to create a new storage pool? Or does the pool expand automatically into the 5.6T free space as it grows?
EDIT: Bahah, i *think* i get it now, after a found a description. So i've created a storage pool on that disk, and a single volume of 1.4TB inside the pool. I can expand that volume to the 7TB or whatever, or I can create new volumes. I cannot create a new pool because the disk is fully allocated to that pool already.
Thanks
Mike
