Hmm. What's the catch? What's their advert for?

Hello,

Our company ExpoActive operates an online advertising service. We are interested in placing a text based ad on your website http://www.autograph.uk.com

Currently we would be willing to pay you $ .25 for every click that this Ad receives.

If you decide to accept this proposal please create your ExpoActive account using the following dynamic link
https://www.expoactive.com/r/?r=ec31dc56562858f333bb53c000f8d1fe

After creating your ExpoActive account you will be able to view the actual ad that we would like to place on your website. If you agree to display this Ad on your website you will be provided with a short HTML segment that you simply paste on to your site's pages wherever you believe the Ad would be most effective. In the event that you feel the ad you have been offered would be more relevant on a different website that you operate, it is fine to place it there providing the visitor demographics are similar.

You will then immediately begin earning $ .25 every time a visitor of your website clicks this Ad. At any time you will be able to log into your account and view your balance. The money you earn will be sent to you via check or certified money order on a monthly basis.

We hope you choose to accept our proposal, as we look forward to advertising with you ASAP!

Sincerely,

Pete Caxivo

Not an endorsement from me, just a quick Google around.

Spamming to get business is NEVER acceptable, but that's between your conscience and your bank balance!

'the only ad they gave me is an ad for themselves'

Pyramid then - but where does the money come from?

I have a hobby site that gets 250 hits a week; I might try it on that for a while.

Thanks Jamie, if I ever get any loot I'll let you know!

Whomever you feel would benefit from the demographic of viewer

Typically those interested in naughty content of TV series

ehhehe

You know best who visits, I am sure if you fired off some emails to companies you deem worthy, along with some cast iron stats for the last 6 mths, you wouldnt have much to lose.

I am sure Ted would be a good man to ask.

Firstly you need to qualify whether you really mean 'hits' or unique visitors. I'm not being pedantic but hits are a meaningless term in the advertising world as strictly speaking a hit is just one element of a page so one page could generate 5 or 20 hits depending what's on it.

Initially I'd suggest using Google's Adsense system as that should bring in a few pennies each month. Or use something like UKaffiliates.com or tradedoubler.com to get some specific campaigns of relavence. Again, well targeted stuff might bring in a few dozen quid a month.

Don't discount Amazon's affiliate scheme either. That can be lucrative (it's one of the few affiliates that I still use).

Beyond that it's a different world and trying to persuade blue chips such as Canon to advertise on your site is a very long shot (all agencies talking to agencies and proposals and media packs and nonsense).

TVR are a special case (email me about that) but some of the dealers may be an easier target.
