Afternoon everyone

My parents have recently moved form Virgin Media to NowTV phone/internet. However its turning into a bit of a nightmare.

Engineer came over a week ago and seemed to do a proper bosh job of installing. He has put a new phone/internet socket in the worst possible room in the house but seems to have done for ease, said he cant go into certain rooms due to covid, he then broke a phone socket upstairs but didn't say anything then left without testing anything and they have been left without a phone which rings out or in. Even mentioned he was keen to get away as a football game was on...

I have tried reaching out to NowTv but seems very robot like in replies even though a complaint was made.

It seems since the phone needs plugged into the same socket which the hub goes into but only that one phone now rings and due to its poor location you cant hear it if in the living room. Does any one know why the other phones in the house no longer work?

Really disappointed as I use nowtv but seemed a lot more straightforward so a tad embarrassed I recommended them. I think the engineer has rushed this and has done a really poor job. My parents get in a bit of a tizz about these things so trying to do what I can to rectify this.

Any help would be helpful.

DId they have specific problems with their Virgin infrastructure?
Seems strange going from Virgin to NowTV for your broadband etc.
Arent they just piggybacking like Talk Talk do, and we know how bad they are.

Who installed the new line? Openreach? All you can do is get on to NowTV(Sky) and chase them up.

I expect he disconnected all the internal wiring as it can affect the BB performance. Will need reconnecting properly, I doubt you'll get NowTv to do it, you'll need to do it yourself or get someone independent in.

This.

When we moved to EE the Openreach engineer disconnected all the internal extensions, didnt find out until my alarm company said they could no longer connect to my alarm. Anything to make their job easier.
