Got an Apple Watch 6 for Christmas, and wasn’t expecting the lack official apps for WhatsApp and Viber.

I need both WhatsApp and Viber to cover all my contacts, and some older folks are on Viber and unlikely to move over to WhatsApp.

I’ve found the WatchChat app which is OK for WhatsApp, but nothing for Viber.

Replying to message notifications has limited functionality and is not 100% reliable, so looking for a good workaround. Anyone found a good solution for these messaging apps on the Apple watch?

I have an Apple Watch with cellular. Whilst it’s ok for leaving the phone at home on occasion it’s really not suited to replace the phone in terms of contacting people; especially messaging.

Never even heard of viber myself though!

I reply to WhatsApp on my phone and it seems to work fine?

Can reply (if you catch the notification quick) but can’t compose.

Exactly. It’s not got it’s own app, just a notification which can disappear if you don’t catch it.

I wonder why Whatapp don't have a iPad or an Apple Watch app.
