When my son had an Android phone, we used Family Link when needed to check he'd got to school, or his friend's house, or wherever, and it worked well.

Now he's got an iPhone, and we want to do the same, but Family Link doesn't work with the iPhone.

So what app can we use on Android phones that will track an iPhone? There seem to be lots out there, all saying they are brilliant obviously, but I have no idea if they are good in reality.

Worth saying that my 12 year old is very happy to do this, it will be done in his full knowledge and consent, so no covert installation etc needed. (to which, he said I could just log in to his icloud account whenever I wanted, which would tell me where he was as it tracks his phone, but when I do that it always pings a message to his phone first, to "allow" the access, which kind of defeats the object).

Thanks,

abzmike

Can you not log in to the iCloud with a browser and see location there?

Google Maps location sharing works for us, across multiple platforms. You only get an immediate location, no historical data, so that works from a privacy perspective.

I tried that, but as above it pings a message to his phone, to ask permission, every time, so doesn't really work

We use Life360 even between Apple devices its soo much better than "Find My" to the point where if zoom in on a person in a car or train for example you can actually see them moving.

Great, thanks.

Reviews look good generally, but recent ones seem to suggest the latest update is rubbish and it is not working as well now.

Given it's free, is it ad-heavy?

Still working perfectly for us, we have been using it for the last year or so, using on iPhones we don't see any ads at all.
