Anyone here a website designer that has worked with WordPress and would be open to designing a website for my brother's company? Paid obviously.

Send me a PM and I'll forward your details onto him.

Thanks.

Make sure you know who is going to do the security updates coz it will be full of holes around a month after handover!

That's a slight exaggeration. Yes there will be patches most months and keeping plugins, themes and WordPress core up to date is important but it's still fairly rare to have a major vulnerability. Good server security, strong passwords and using 2FA will prevent the vast majority of bot style attacks.

It was a slightly, but my site has had 40 brute force login attempts this month.
Wordfence is good as is 2fa but my point still stands. Make sure you know who is responsible for the updates.

OK. 6 weeks : )

Having had a company do an enterprise review of a brochureware site I put together, it still picked up a few (not major) security flaws that I wasn't really aware of on a fully patched up-to-date site.

Kind of surprising hosting companies don't give a list of basic things you should immediately implement like limit-login, replace default login url etc.
