Currently get great mobile coverage, and using EE wifi for home internet.
Moving house in the next couple of months - where there is almost no mobile signal.

So... back to normal broadband.

However - thinking about a few IP phones. Will something like this work?
One number and phone for work for me
One number and phone for work for her
And another number and phone as a home phone.

Oh - and if anyone is feeling generous - I have Deco mesh wifi.... recommendations for a router to replace the Hauwei B525 mobile - as I will be using normal broadband in a month or so...

Thank you in advance.

You can have two Sipgate Basic accounts, each of which will have its own number. Assuming that you could have two accounts and your wife one that would give you your three numbers (if they count you as separate customers even though being at the same address, I don't know).

Sipgate will give you a choice of number with whatever area code you want.

A VoIP phone like the Gigaset S850A Go can have as many as 6 VoIP connections and you can assign which connection each handset uses.

Each handset can have one or many incoming "lines" so if you only want your work phone to ring for one connection then set that and it will not ring if anyone dials one of your other numbers. You could make each handset only ring for one "work" number but all of them ring for the "home' number.

Each can have only one outgoing line or you can set it so you choose which line to use before your dial.

The S850 can also be set to fall back to your landline if you have one. My landline is internet only, it ha no number or dial tone.

You can also connect something like GS Wave Lite on your mobile to your accounts and it will ring too so you can answer your home phone when you're not at home.

Does your mobile support Wi-fi Calling? If so why not use that?

OP,

Is there enough mobile signal at the new address to still be able to call the emergency services during a power cut? We’ve suffered this with IP phone but poor mobile signal, and it was scary during a power cut with a medical emergency at home. Never again.

Good point. Could put the router, mesh root node and IP phone base station on a cheap UPS. None use a lot of power and would last a good while on the UPS battery.

Thanks for the input. Some reading to do.

There is just 1 bar (on a fair day) for us each to call in and out on the mobiles

Will get a normal phone to call in and out in case of emergency

But most calls will be inbound.... and work related - having separate IP phone numbers is required.

Thx again for advice....

Have you checked you can get good broadband at the address? As above, why not use WiFi calling?

Sorry for the tangent.
Is it as simple as buying something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASHATA-Adapter-Portable-G... plus a subscription to Sipgate and away you go?
