Ive had outlook running for years and now it refuses to open. I click on the icon, it thinks about it for a few seconds then nothing. Any ideas? Ive checked in properties for a compatability mode but cant see anything.

Check it’s not already running in Task Manager. (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)

If you have 2 screens connected but sometimes only use one (I only use two when working on document comparisons), it could be the window is opening ‘behind’ the non-running screen.. I have had occasional glitches like this, where Outlook was opening minimised on the inactive desktop area, and did find a fix after a bit of Googling to reposition the window onto the active desktop area.

The dialogue box that displays when the mouse cursor is hovered over the Outlook icon on the toolbar would show the program running minimised but maximising did nothing (visible).

I guess turning the second screen on could have enabled the window to be dragged back too, but there were a few keystrokes that resolved it.

Seemed to happen if the second screen (actually a tv doubling up) was turned off or signal source switched to tv whilst the pc was running.

Did make me scratch my head for a bit.
