Printer gone down after internet failed

I lost my internet connection for 3 to 4days and loads more in my area even had someone elses phone number.I don’t know if it is coincidence but at the same time my printer has gone down,I,m an old bod and not very savvy with this technology,have tried various remedies on You Tube but can’t sort.The printer is recommending me to a service engineer and quoting a fault code.
Could this be down to my internet connection going down.
Appreciate help suggestions.

The printer model and code would be useful.
It's possibly related to no internet gateway available, can you still print to it?

Have you tried the obvious switch off/ on?

Thanks Ozone,sorry all I can tell you it’s a Canon,I have given to a friend to have a play.It doesn’t function in any way other than the carriage moving left to right.

Did you have a power outage/surge that knocked your router/modem off line originally? If so, then maybe that's what's borked the printer at the same time.
