Aarrrggghhhh!

Both our Smart TVs (Toshiba and Samsung) can no longer find the wireless router. All other internet devices are connected (PCs, Alexa's, tablets, phones, fire sticks) and showing no issues.

Both TVs will not search for wireless networks for some reason and requesting the SSID to be entered manually, which then fails. Obviously, I have unplugged the router for ten seconds but to no avail and unplugged from network too. Can't say for sure but it seems it has happened at the same time for both TVs.

So, what next?? Thanks

Strange,,,, our Samsung has just started doing the same... do you have sky broadband by chance? I am thinking it’s a router issue

No, we are with Talktalk. It does feel router related, although maybe there is some common code in both TVs that has fallen over??

They are currently laying fibre outside the house, which seems to have dropped speeds and coincided with the Smart TV issue too. Gawd knows....

Can you create a hotspot on your mobile and try to connect the TV's to that in order to prove it's likely to be a router issue?

Solved. Mobile hot spot was not working, no neighbours WiFi appearing???

So, unplugged the telly for two minutes, switched back on again and hey presto all WiFi networks showing again. How bizarre that two TVs fell over at the same time from two manufacturers with the same issue. Could have sworn it would be the router......but.......

There's a lot to be said for suggesting "have you tried turning it off and on again" !
