Have recently started at a new company, using Gmail, Google Calendar and Meets for our calls. I have a windows 10 laptop.

I'm really not gelling with the idea of having my emails and diaries in a web browser, I find it gets lost and much prefer a standalone app. Previously used Outlook and thought it was very good.

I've noted that outlook doesn't seem to integrate properly with my calendar and although the standard mail app does, it looks hideous and I still can't book Google Meet calls from it.

As far as I can tell, I have free choice of what software I install, so was looking for some advice? I don't think I neeed much:

-Good functional mail client that fully integrates with Gmail
-Good functional calendar that fully ingrates with Google Calender
-Ability to book Google Meet meetings from the app

I think that's about it really. Any suggestions?

Quick search in Windows store brings up 'EasyMail for Gmail' which has lots of good reviews, looks like it will do what you need and is free !

I like Outlook as well but for the sake of easy integration couldn't you open GMail in a separate browser window so it's standalone rather than getting lost in the other browser tabs?

Have a look at Bluemail as well:

You can use Outlook with Google's email and calendar etc. - can you try to fix the "integration issues" you mention?

I'm not sure about the meetings component.

Outlook works so much better with Microsoft server based email/calendars etc It never seems to work as nicely with Gmail. I'd agree that using the web browser is probably a better overall experience with Gmail.
