Any Outlook experts here?
Discussion
Everything was fine and dandy until I decided to move from Win10-32 to Win10-64 which is not an upgrade and requires formatting the disk.
I thought that I had backed everything up but forgot that the Outlook pst file was not in MyDocs etc.
So Outlook installed and for some reason I setup a Pop3 account and could only see my inbox. No sent, calendars etc. So lots of swearing.
Changed the setup to Imap and the received and sent mails are there. But no calendar or contacts. Now lots of resignation that I f-ed up.
Everything is still on the outlook.live server
Is there any way I can restore my contacts and calendars locally to Outlook?

As you have found pop3 only downloads new messages from inbox and imap only sync emails folders. To do contacts, calendar etc. you need to either sync them separately or use something like an exchange active sync connection.
What version of Office do you have and are you trying to connect it to outlook.com (formally hotmail and live mail)?

The settings I am using are:
Type: IMAP
Server: outlook.office365.com
Outgoing Mail Server:smtp.office365.com
Require login using Secure Password Authentication
Tabs
-General
Account Name:email address
-Folders
Save sent mail in Outlook Sent Items folder
-Outgoing Server
tick my outgoing server requires authentication
use same settings as incoming server
-Connection
Connect using my local area network
-Advanced
Incoming server 145
Use the following type of encryption TLS
Outgoing server SMTP 25
Use the following type of encryption TLS
I have no idea how to make it connect to an active sync server!
It has worked perfectly starting from before Outlook 2003 until I managed to mess it up. Marry in haste repent at leisure - comes to mind when I think about the upgrade that I did!
I think you are going to have to upgrade from Outlook 2007 as it hasn’t been supported for a few years!
Outlook 2016 or 2019 will basically auto configure the setting for you when you put in an outlook.com address.

Thanks for the help. I plucked up the courage to delete the half useful files on the pc and install Outlook 2019. To my surprise and delight! I can see everything again on my pc like it was...
