Guys, I’m getting more and more confused.

I need a new office computer, I want one with 2 display ports to be able to connect 2 screens and wifi. The last desktop I bought was a dell optiplex SFF, nice computer but for home.

So I’ve been back on with Dell and I’d need to spend approx £500 plus VAT to get another optiplex but with dual screen ports, or I can buy this secondhand one from Amazon, it only gets used for excel and some accounting software, so nothing crazy. My own computer at work is about 10 years old so I think we give them an easy time.

Any other brands I need to consider?

Link to the Amazon one..

Thanks in advance..

For an alternative, for about 20 quid less I’ve just got one of these HP ProDesk (though it says EliteDesk)..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B084X48QZX/ref...

Compared to ‘yours’: more RAM but slower processor; smaller SSD but extra 1TB HDD; WiFi dongle included which ‘yours’ doesn’t seem to have (they’re only a fiver in any case).

I’m very pleased, there are no dints or scratches on mine. It will have an easy life in my office.

I'd stick with optiplex tbh. I only purchase 2nd hand ones for family and friend's businesses. Add new ssd, upgrade ram if needed job done. There are naturally a ton of decent ones for sale om ebay etc.

One of those secondhand machines will do everything you ask of it for many years. I've also got a SFF Elitedesk I bought from work which gets used as an HTPC, it came with a 4790 but I dropped that into my son's gaming PC and replaced it with his old G4400 Pentium. It's still plenty quick enough for most tasks and all but silent.

There's really no need to buy new for normal office stuff, the days of needing to replace a PC every 2-3 years is long gone. The only thing might be to ensure ultimate longevity, avoiding things like dying capacitors etc., but even that is much less of an issue that it used to be.
