Could those who are in the know, let me know the difference between the graphics cards which have the same specs but different manufacturers?

For example, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti seems to be made by many different firms (Gigabyte, Zotac, Gainward, Asus, etc etc etc). But are they all the same thing? If not, why do they get called the same name?

Is it as simple as the GPU chip is an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti but the different manufacturers put their own 'other' hardware around it? If not, what's the difference because the prices of exactly the same model number varies immensely!

All the GPU chips are supplied to the board partners directly from Nvidia or AMD, the only differences are individual components and board designs that the partners chose to use on the rest of their cards.

The more expensive models typically run slightly faster clocks out the box or better cooling solutions. However, this gen at least Nvidia’s FE models actually have really good coolers.

There is a massive shortage of GPU’s and CPU’s at present, certainly the higher performing parts anyway. The Nvidia and AMD own produced models are the only ones available at RRP, and they’re in incredibly high demand and almost constantly out of stock. Then there are the resellers on eBay trying to rip people off.

It’s a crappy time to be trying to source high end components full stop at the moment unless you’re happy to throw money away at scalpers.
