Good morning folks
I hope you're well. I'm thinking of buying a door bell which supports 2.4G Hz WiFi only. What does that mean and will it effect my WiFi connection? Thanks

It means you'll need to have a 2.4ghz WiFi in your house. Depending on your router, it's likely you will have dual band (BT does). 5 and 2.4. But worth checking

Thank you.

Would connecting the door bell slow down my wifi speed when browsing on the internet?

Thanks

Unlikely, unless you already have slow WiFi speeds. The doorbell only “talks” to the router when it detects movement or someone presses the button

Note that outdoor cameras / camera doorbells often underperform when the WiFi signal is weak. Where is your router in relation to your front door?

I have 3x Netatmo cameras that only connect on 2.4 and they dont cause any issues on my dual band network at all
