I've a pair of Bluetooth speakers here for the last 5-6 years and never had any issues with them.
Once paired they always auto connect to any paired device when I activate Bluetooth on that device. Phones, laptops, tablets etc

But I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab A last week, and it doesn't auto connect - ever! Instead it pops up a dialog you can only see if you unlock the tablet, where it's basically asking you to tap the device at the top of the list to connect to it. The top device being the currently available option.

I've had a root through the settings, and can't find anything related to Bluetooth auto connect. All I've spotted after searching online for solutions is to install 3rd party apps to manage Bluetooth on Samsung tablets.
Is this really the only solution, or have I missed something buried in a sub menu somewhere?

Android 10, One UI 2.1, Jan 2021 S/W build.

Just bumping this.

Any Samsung owners here ever hear of this issue?

Not used a Samsung tablet, but we have various phones over the years with no issues connecting to BlueTooth.

It's not a huge issue, but it is a royal pain in the a55.
Having to unlock the tablet using the pin, and then tap two buttons on the dialog menu to confirm the connection.

All my other devices auto connect, which is great as my media player controls are available on the lock screen of everything, including the Samsung.

Well Samsung support are as inept as ever. Perform a factory reset. If problem persists return it to a Service Centre.

It's not a problem per se, it's the standard mode of operation many Tab A owners report online, and the device is 5 days old.
They can't even confirm whether the Tab A supports auto connect!
Buffoonery of the highest order. banghead
